Oglebay Resort Projects
Since 2018, LDL Studio has played a key role in the evolution of Oglebay Resort, a historic 2,700-acre destination located in Wheeling, West Virginia. This collaboration has included architectural and interior design, branding, graphics, and FF&E selection across a wide range of hospitality and recreational spaces. Set within a state park and rooted in rich tradition, the resort features championship golf courses, lodges, cabins, and community landmarks. LDL’s work supports the Wheeling Park Commission’s mission to preserve the legacy of the resort while reimagining it for future generations.

With every project, LDL Studio has balanced historical integrity with forward-thinking design to elevate the guest experience throughout the resort. From refreshing the iconic Wilson Lodge lobby to redesigning key guest rooms and event spaces, our approach reflects a deep respect for Oglebay’s legacy while introducing modern comforts and aesthetics. Notable projects include the transformation of Sarita’s Lobby Café into a warm, European-style market; the renovation of Glessner Auditorium and the West Ballrooms to better serve conferences and events; and the creation of TRACE Steakhouse, a 40-seat speakeasy-style dining room now known as one of the resort’s top culinary destinations. Additional work includes the renovation of over 200 guest rooms in the Lower West wing, upgrades to the White Palace community venue including a grand stair tower, and continued improvements across dining, retail, and recreational spaces. Each project reflects a shared vision—preserving Oglebay’s charm while positioning it as a vibrant, multifaceted destination for today’s guests.
